Professional Summary

Dr. Lee’s research has been focused on the synthesis of advanced structural materials or engineered nano-/micro-structures accompanied with fundamental studies of the mechanical properties of materials at both macroscopic and microscopic length scales. His main research falls into the following areas: (1) mechanical tests of alloys and metallic composites (the measurement of strength and hardness); (2) ex-situ/in-situ nanomechanical tests of nano-sized materials at different temperatures; (3) synthesis of rapidly solidified alloys with enhanced strength and ductility; (4) nanofabrication via focused-ion-beam milling; (5) computer simulation of dislocation
