Visitors are invited to view the senior design project demonstrations and presentations of graduating engineering seniors on Friday, May 1. The demos -- which will take place in various engineering buildings across campus, including the Student Union Ballroom -- represent the culmination of the students' undergraduate educational experience.

UConn engineering alumna Dr. Sharon Nunes has been named one of four female leaders to be inducted into the 2009 WITI (Women in Technology International) Hall of Fame. The honor highlights the role of women in advancing vital scientific and technological innovations and encourages young girls and women to become more technologically literate.

Photo Students Design & Demo Go-Kart for Disabled Youth

A team of graduating seniors in the Biomedical Engineering (BME) program has designed and developed a novel recreational go-kart for a 10-year-old boy afflicted with cerebral palsy. The students developed the new design for their senior design challenge, which is the culminating course for all engineering seniors.

Photo UConn Steel Bridge Team Headed to National Competition

The UConn Steel Bridge team will compete in the 2009 National Student Steel Bridge Competition in Las Vegas in late May. On April 4th, the team scored third place in the Northeast Regional Steel Bridge Competition, hosted by the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
