Alison E. Gotkin

Alison Gotkin is the Associate Director of Strategic Business Development at United Technologies Research Center (UTRC). She is responsible for developing marketing strategies to grow external business through grants from government agencies within the U.S. and Europe. She supports Climate, Controls and Security (CCS), Otis, and Manufacturing Technologies, including National Manufacturing Institutes. In order to accomplish this growth, she works with strategic partners to pre-market to customers and develop winning proposals. She has been integral to winning multiple $200 million proposals for manufacturing institutes, including Smart Manufacturing, Robotics, Flexible Electronics, Lightweight Metals and many other DOE and DoD proposals.

Prior to joining UTRC, she was Business Development Manager at ITT Power Solutions, where she tripled the external business over five years. She was responsible for developing marketing strategies for custom power supplies for commercial and defense market segments. Prior to ITT, she founded Supply Management Solutions (SMS) where she consulted for many small to large business on Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. She helped companies improve their productivity and improve the quality of their products. Prior to SMS, she joined General Electric through their Manufacturing Management Program (MMP), where she also obtained her M.S. Degree from Boston University in Manufacturing Engineering. She holds a B.S. summa cum laude, in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
