Ch. 15 & final projects Peters, Tom Sent: Monday, March 30, 2009 1:33 PM Hi All, I suggest reading Ch. 15 prior to tomorrow's class, as indicated in the posted syllabus. Moreover, I suggest specific emphasis on Section 15.6 on Bezier curves. Also, for Thursday, April 2, each team should submit a short paragraph description of your final project. If you wish to merge teams to make an even more compelling project, that is an option. The material for April 2 should be submitted by 7am by email. I will read these before class and provide feedback. These can earn 5 points towards a final project maximum of 40 points. Items to include: 1. Title of your project 2. Names of team members (and team name if you wish to have one) 3. A keyword descriptive on the primary graphics area you are covering (for example: triangulation, animation, rendering, shading, hidden line removal, portable graphical processing units, CUDA, splines, ....). 4. A keyword descriptive of a supporting graphics or computer science or mathematics topic (for example: any appropriate graphics keyword; artificial intelligence, numerical analysis, topology, linear algebra, approximation theory, ...) 5. A short description (1/2 page, at most --- longer submissions will not be read!) of what your project will be and what will you show at the end. Short demos are obvious options, but alternatives are possible. All are due by the start of the last class, Thursday, April 30, 2009. Your entire file should take no more than 1 page -- longer submissions will not be read. * This lists given in #3 & #4, above, are *not* restrictive, only suggestive. We will discuss this project requirement in class tomorrow, also. However, you should start to consider topics that might interest you and discuss with your expected team members. If there are changes to teams, those should be discussed tomorrow. Dr. Peters
