      Spastic MP3 Player is a standalone MP3 player based on the STA013 decoder chip.  It is designed as a jukebox with a graphic menu system and advanced playlist support using a Rabbit 2000 microcontroller by Rabbit Semiconductor.

12-15-04:

     Added documentation webpage for Smart Home Streaming MP3 Player, a networked streaming MP3 solution.  The site is available here.

4-8-04:

     This project is no longer under development so that I can devote my time to my new PDA/MP3 player, the Phi-Pod.  Information on this new player will be posted as soon as it is ready.  However, this site will remain on-line for future reference.

1-18-03:

  • Added Remote Control Support!

12-20-02:

  • Updated code to play fragmented files.
  • Updating code to search fragmented directories.

6-30-02:

  • Added pictures of finished player.
  • Added more recent code.

4-1-02:

  • Removed "RECYCLED" folder from playlist generation menus.
  • Added Scrolling of Artist on LCD Screen
  • Added plans for an external module to download files through PC parallel port at ~100-200KBps.

3-20-02:

  • Made random function more random.
  • Added song info to the bottom of the LCD screen.
  • Fixed scrolling problem when navigating directories.
  • Decreased response time to button presses while music is playing.
