Split Snakes by Segmenting the External Force Fieldกก

Abstract: 

Traditional active contour cannot handle topological changes, such as splitting of the snake. We attack the snake splitting problem by an area segmentation approach: the external force is segmented, and the snake is split by the segmented external force field.

Demos:

Microscope cell images are used in the demos. The EPGVF fields is computed as the external force field, and the segmented EPGVF field is used to split the snake.
