Heinrich Parachute Systems Technology Short Course

The 2006 edition of the Short Course took place on May 15-19, 2006, at the US Army Yuma Proving Ground in Yuma AZ. The course was judged a success by all measures. Over 25 lectures on parachute design, rigging and testing were delivered by our speakers - so much information to be digested in such a short period! The lectures included visits to the YPG air delivery building and testing control center. The students also got to witness some actual test drops.

The organization team want to thank everyone for coming. We are looking forward meeting you again, perhaps at a future parachute conference sponsored by the AIAA-ADS Technical Committee.

WHAT ABOUT THE NEXT SHORT COURSE?

The date of the next course will be determined by the ADS technical committee, depending on the demand for parachute design training by industry and government . If you are interested in attending or, as a department head , in sending some of your junior engineers, please let us know. If the demand is high enough the next Short Course could take place during the Spring of 2008 at the earliest (location in the USA TBD). Enquiries can be sent to any current member of the technical committee, or directly to Dr. Potvin.

Sincerely

Jean Potvin
Course Director
