A junior majoring in Material Science & Engineering with a concentration in Nanomaterials, Julie has been a member of Material Advantage since the spring of 2006. During the spring of 2007 Julie held the position of Outreach Chair. She is currently serving as the Vice President for the 2007-2008 year.

Julie's interests lie in energy materials, hydrogen storage, and nanotechnology. In the summer of 2007, Julie interned with Parker-Hannifin Energy Systems where she worked on the assembly and testing of PEM fuel cells and fuel cell system components. She currently is a research assistant at the Connecticut Global Fuel Cell Center researching the Effects of Impurities on Fuel Cell Performance and Durability.

Julie is a member of the Society of Women Engineers and an active volunteer for the Engineering Diversity Program. She also is a teacher for the Pre-Engineering Program.
