A senior receiving dual degrees in Material Science & Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, Amber has been with UCMA since joining the Material Science department in 2005. Previously serving as the Vice President (2005-2006) and the Chapter President (2006-2007), she has been elected the Undergraduate President for the 2007-2008 academic year. Amber will also act as the student liaison for the Material Science & Engineering seniors.
Amber's interests lie in optical and electrical materials and computational modeling, including clean energy systems, lens refinement and lean manufacturing. She is a consultant with the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Inc. (CCAT) for the Energy and Modeling & Simulation initiatives.
She is a professional member of the UCMA societies as well as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). In her free time she enjoys photography, yoga, and hiking.
