Over the past months BECAT has made available a new high-performance computing cluster (codenamed Hornet cluster) to assist the University community with research computing needs. BECAT will be holding an interactive workshop on October 19th to discuss the past, present and future of this new initiative.
Come gather for coffee and conversation at 9:30 AM, followed by presentations from the BECAT director and leading researchers.
Additionally BECAT HPC administrators will lead a very basic HPC tutorial geared towards graduate students learning HPC applications. An important topic for discussion will be BECAT's proposed funding model which will enable BECAT to continue its mission as a University Center and grow its HPC resources and continue to improve support for HPC at the University. We will close with lunch.
