Curriculum for B.S.E. in Materials Science & Engineering
The BSE-MSE Curriculum requires a minimum of 128 credits to satisfy graduation requirements. Thirty-one (31) credits in mathematics and basic sciences, fifty-seven (57) credits in engineering, and nineteen to twenty-two (19-22) credits in general education courses are specified. The student will elect a minimum of nine (9) credits from a list of recommended professional electives and a minimum of six (6) credits from a list of recommended technical electives. At least three credits of technical elective courses must be in mathematics or basic sciences. Three to six credits are designated as free electives and students may elect University courses to satisfy their individual interests.
Three (12 credit) MSE concentrations have been defined. Students may enroll in elective courses to follow one of the defined concentrations, may choose courses from the recommended lists to suit their individual interests, or may petition the MSE Faculty to receive professional or technical elective credit for a course that is not on the currently recommended lists.
