CE 320 Earth Dam Engineering

Engineering design and analysis of seepage, stability with static and earthquake loadings and spillway capacity; visual inspections; rehabilitation; decommissioning; instrumentation; and operations, maintenance and emergency action planning; all pertinent to common types of earth dams in the northeastern U.S. Case histories from the instructors' experiences will be featured.

CE 370 Transportation Planning
Kari Edison Watkins, P.E.
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the issues and topics of transportation planning. Discussions will include the interaction between transportation and land use, the 4-step transportation modeling process, the history and future of transportation planning and the impact of transportation on the environment. Class assignments and projects will reinforce these topics and also give students experience with travel data collection, traffic impact studies, transportation planning software and public presentation.
