DISTANCE PROGRAM
Recognizing that Connecticut industry has a significant need for a continuing graduate education program that is convenient to its workforce, in 1998 UConn's School of Engineering and United Technologies Corporation (UTC) partnered to bring graduate courses on-site to UTC engineers. The program was so successful that in the ensuing years it has been expanded significantly, both in terms of the course offerings and participating companies. A summary of the MENG program's evolution follows:
- MENG program offers graduate Mechanical Engineering on-site courses on the East Hartford campus of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft
- MENG program expanded to include Materials Science & Engineering coursework
- MENG program expanded to include a Chemical Engineering concentration from the UTC Power South Windsor site
- MENG program expanded to include Civil and Environmental Engineering concentration from Fuss & O'Neill
- MENG program expands to include synchronous distance classes to UConn satellite campuses
Currently Available Streamed Courses for Fall 2009

The University of Connecticut School of Engineering now
offers MENG coursework via distance learning, at the five
regional UConn campuses and participating employer facilities.
Classes are offered in interactive/synchronous mode via
registered computers.
