Concentration Courses
Concentration Courses: Selection of 4 three credit graduate courses (total of 12 credits) from an approved list in each department in the School of Engineering.
Who Qualifies?
Engineers who meet the admission requirements of the UConn Graduate School (see www.grad.uconn.edu/requirements.html). These requirements are summarized below.
- The applicant must hold a B.S. degree from an accredited college or university or present evidence of the equivalent.
- The applicant's college transcripts must be of at least the following quality:
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 for the entire undergraduate record, or
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 for the last two years; or
- Excellent work in the entire final year.
- Applicants whose records indicate deficiencies may be refused admission or required to either take background courses without graduate credit or demonstrate by examination that they have acquired the requisite knowledge or skills for graduate study.
- Applicants must complete and submit application materials to the UConn Graduate School in advance (several months early is advisable) of the first semester of coursework.
If you are interested in polishing your skills without working toward an MENG degree, we offer our coursework on a non-degree basis. Simply enroll as non-degree student and take as many classes as you desire.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

The University of Connecticut School of Engineering now
offers MENG coursework via distance learning, at the five
regional UConn campuses and participating employer facilities.
Classes are offered in interactive/synchronous mode via
registered computers.
