MECHANICAL ENGINEERING ANNUAL REPORT FOR 2008-2009 is now available

Prof. Chih-Jen (Jackie) Sung joins our department as School of Engineering Professor in Sustainable Energy from Case Western Reserve University.

Prof. Hanchen Huang joins our department as School of Engineering Professor in Sustainable Energy from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Prof. Shiva Kotha is the recipient of Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) award from National Science Foundation for his project titled "Hierarchies of Repair of Damaged Bone - A Role for Osteocytes."

Prof. Hanchen Huang organized the ARO Workshop “Atomistic Interfaces 2009: Ionic Solids” at UConn, August 24-26, 2009

Profs. Jackie Sung and Wilson Chiu are investigators on two different Department of Energy - Emerging Frontiers in Research and Innovation Centers.

Mechanical Engineering faculty members received grants and contracts in excess of $10 million from funding agencies NSF, DoE, DoEd and DoD between July 2008 and August 2009.
