INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH
General
Information technology (IT) is a term that encompasses all forms of technology used to create, store, exchange, and use information in its various forms - including business data, voice conversations, photographs, video media, multimedia presentations. As a tool, it is used primarily for communication of vital information from one source to another. The School of Engineering has a large number of faculty members whose research expertise encompasses or exploits IT. Further, we offer an undergraduate minor in Information Technology intended to expose non-computer science majors to algorithm and data-structure design, software engineering tools and practices, and relevant numerical methods skills to address large, complex computational problems. Following are brief profiles of some exciting research conducted by our faculty.
