Career/Internship Opps on Web

During our Fireside Chat a few weeks ago, several of you expressed a desire for more research, internships and co-op opportunities. We are pleased to announce that we have significantly expanded portions of our Engineering website dealing with career, internship, co-op and research experience opportunities (please visit page http://www.engr.uconn.edu/reuindustryopps.php and its allied pages).

These pages are accessible from any page within the Engineering website: look for the banner in the right-hand column of each page. You will find the Internships and Co-ops portion contains:

  • FAQs,
  • a direct link to the Career Services website,
  • a series of curricular "roadmaps" for each B.S. program, showing how you may integrate a co-op into your degree program (these will be fully populated over the next few weeks),
  • a lengthy listing of corporate internship/co-op websites, and
  • a list of corporate portals that may also contain internship/co-op opportunities.

The Research Opportunities pages provide information about NSF "Research Experiences for Undergraduate" programs sponsored by leading institutions across the United States (you'll also find our newest REU program at UConn on Bio-Grid), and a number of government and private lab websites pertaining to research opportunities.

Research, internships and co-op opportunities enrich your undergraduate experience, enhance your resume "sizzle" and prepare you for successful careers. We will continually update this section of our website as appropriate and believe this information will help you optimize your engineering education at UConn. You will also see additional developments through our undergraduate office to provide career advice and support.
