Dr. Maifi Khan’s research has been focused on scalable cloud platform for large scale data analytics, reliability of large scale distributed systems, and cyber-physical systems. He is investigating ways to leverage cloud infrastructure for real-time monitoring of sensor streams and data analytic tasks such as motif mining. Analyzing and understanding complex, large scale distributed systems such as data centers, computing clusters and wireless sensor networks from an empirical perspective is one of the key focuses of his research.
Recently, he is investigating the role of emotion in human-computer interactions and behavior modification techniques leveraging smartphones. He is also investigating novel authentication techniques leveraging smartphones and human behavior.
