My current research interests are in regional modeling of environmental and ecological system dynamics. One line of my research is to develop a holistic multimedia model of chemical dynamics at watershed scale, which simulates transport and transformation of nitrogen species and heavy metals in an environmental domain that includes air, canopy, soil, surface water and
groundwater. Another focus of my study is to develop an integrative hydrological-ecological- economical model at basin scale for evaluating agricultural production, ecosystem service, and resources sustainability.
