Scholarship Opportunities in the School of Engineering at the University of Connecticut Academic Year 2008-2009

School of Engineering Scholarships

Dean's Scholarships

Criteria:

Rank of senior class Valedictorian or Salutatorian Residents and non-residents

Amount:

$4,000 per year*

Comments:

This scholarship, coupled with UConn's Presidential Scholars award, is valued at $7,200 per year for Connecticut residents and $13,800 per year for non-residents, plus a one-time $2,500 undergraduate research fellowship.

Academic Merit

Criteria:

Students with SAT greater than or equal to 1300
Top 10% of senior high school class
Minimum high school GPA of 3.4
Residents and non-residents

Amount:

$2,000 per year*

Comments:

This scholarship, coupled with UConn's Leadership or Achievement scholarships, has a minimum value of $5,200 per year for Connecticut residents and a maximum value of $11,800 per year for non-residents.

 

*Renewable after the first year, providing (1) Student's cumulative GPA is 3.4 or greater and (2) Student is enrolled as a full-time student in the School of Engineering.

Academic Excellence

Criteria:

Connecticut residents and non-residents

Amount:

$3,200-$9,800 per year; Covers 50% of tuition

Leadership

Criteria:

Connecticut residents and non-residents

Amount:

$6,400-$9,800 per year; Covers 100% - 50% of tuition

Presidential

Criteria:

Rank of senior class Valedictorian or Salutatorian

Amount:

$3,200-$9,800 per year; Covers 50% of tuition
Plus a one-time undergraduate Research Fellowship: $2,500
