| Secure File Transfer Protocoal (sFTP) |
- Secure FTP (sFTP) is a method of moving files between the server and your local machine. Plain FTP is insecure, meaning that anyone with the proper computer knowledge could intercept your password and files. For this reason - Secure FTP allows for totally secure transport of files between your machine and the server.
- If you are using Uconn Public Wireless, sFTP is the only way you can connect to your home directory (z:/ drive).
- WinSCP a recommended free Secure FTP client and can be download here
- An example WinSCP properly configured to access your engineering home drive is shown here.
