The Renssalear Polytechnic Institute Davies Medal and Award (1980)Dr. Anthony DeMaria is the Chief Scientist of Coherent, Inc. and a founder of DeMaria Electro-Optics Systems, Inc., Bloomfield, CT. in 1994, where he was CEO from 1994 to 2001. His previous experience was with United Technologies Research Center (33 yrs.), where he retired as Assistant Director of Research for Microelectronics and Photonics in 1994. He has authored 45 US Patents, and was a founding member of the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering (President for 6 years). Dr. DeMaria has served as a consultant to the Department of Defense, Department of Energy and the Department of Commerce, and to the Connecticut Department of Economics and Community Development. He has published over 65 papers.
