Week 12 – 11/19/2004

Progress has been made in combining the digital compass and motor drive systems for testing.  The vehicle will be able to constantly travel towards a static compass heading very soon.  The multiplexer that only requires +5 V has arrived and is being mounted to the Zilog microcontroller board.  This part was chosen over the previous multiplexer because it does not require both negative and positive voltages.  In the coming week, over Thanksgiving break, we expect to have the vehicle utilizing the GPS receiver outputs in order to travel to specific destination coordinates.  Plans have been made to borrow a video camera from UCTV to record testing.
