University of Connecticut School of Engineering EAGLES: Engineers As Global Leaders for Energy Sustainability

Program Description

The EAGLES program selects four UConn Engineering students per year to join the double–degree program with Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) or Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (UPM) during one academic year and perform a 1 to 3 months period conducting research or taking courses at the non-degree European awarding institution.

Two students will be selected to attend POLIMI for the academic year followed by research/courses at UPM and two students will be selected to attend UPM for the academic year followed by research/courses at POLIMI. Students are expected to pursue a thesis as a part of their M.S. degree. Their coursework and research abroad is meant to enhance their thesis work before returning to the U.S. to defend.

The program duration for UConn students is two years. Once completed, the student graduates with two distinct M.S. degrees, 1 from UCONN and 1 from POLIMI or UPM.
