Fuel Cells Research
General
Fuel cells, developed initially for the U.S. space program, today hold promise for reducing our national reliance on a petroleum-based energy policy. Fuel cells increasingly are being installed to power schools, municipal and commercial buildings; and government and industry are combining forces to bring fuel cell technologies to the auto industry. Future applications also include field hospitals and buildings in remote locations, computers and appliances, residences and military locales.
