Cap/Gown and Tickets

Caps and Gowns

Caps and gowns may be picked up at the UConn Co-op (860-486-2653). If you are unable to come to the Storrs campus, you may obtain caps and gowns from the co-op on your campus; however, it is more convenient to order them to be delivered with your guest tickets. HOLD YOUR RECEIPT: you will be required to present it in order to receive your guest tickets.

Please read about proper cap and gown protocol here:
http://commencement.uconn.edu/may/cap_gown.html

Tickets

Each graduating student is permitted up to 7 tickets granting access to the commencement exercises. Guest tickets will be distributed only at the UConn Co-op on the Storrs campus. Only the graduating student may pick up the tickets or request that they be mailed.

Pick up your tickets by April 24, 2009.

Children under the age of 4 do not require a ticket to attend the ceremony.

Pick up guest tickets from the UConn Co-op's ground-level cashiering area:

Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Saturdays: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Sunday: 8:30 am - 6:00 pm

You will be required to present the sales receipt from your cap and gown purchase from the Co-op. If you are unable to come to the Storrs campus, tickets can be mailed to you upon written request as well as your cap and gown. Please follow this link for details:

Handicap Access and Hearing Impaired

Handicap access and seating for the Jorgensen Center are available. Separate seating within Jorgensen affords guests in wheelchairs to enjoy the ceremonies comfortably, safely and with easy access. Only one individual may be seated with wheelchair-bound guests. Please contact Kimberly Duby at kaa@engr.uconn.edu or by phone at (860) 486-5466.

For hearing impaired guests, UConn is pleased to be able to provide a sign language interpreter who will appear on the stage throughout the ceremonies.

Photographs

Professional photographers will take photos of candidates as they are presented. To receive a color proof, fill out the address card that will be provided to you at the ceremony. Complimentary photograph proofs will be mailed to each graduates’ home address within one week of the commencement ceremony. [Please allow 7 - 10 days for this mail offer to reach your home address.] There is no obligation to purchase. Once you receive the photograph offer in the mail, your last name and the customer number provided in this mailing will allow you to view your photograph proofs on-line at www.photograds.com.

Those providing a valid e-mail address may also view photos on a special website set aside for this purpose. A link will be sent to your e-mail address.

Questions about commencement photographs may be addressed to 866-572-0199 or service@photograds.com.

In addition, members of the audience (one per graduate) using hand-held cameras may take photos during the ceremonies from areas reserved for that purpose. Individuals are requested to move to those areas for only a short interval and then return to their seats.
