Chemical Engineering

Undergraduate | Graduate | CHEG Faculty | Staff & Visitors

Chemical engineers take chemistry out of the laboratory and into the world. These engineers work to creatively solve problems by applying scientific knowledge and technology to improve the lives of people everywhere. UConn's chemical engineering major fosters knowledge of chemical engineering principles, while increasing students' understanding of the design and operation of chemical processes. Students reinforce their problem-solving skills and develop an appreciation of environmental, social and economic issues.

Applying the principles of chemistry, physics, and mathematics, chemical engineers devise effective solutions to diverse real-world dilemmas, from creation of new pharmaceuticals to development of fuel cells and renewable technologies.
