BECAT Welcomes new Director

The School of Engineering, is pleased to announce the renewed appointment of Sanguthevar Rajasekaran to the position of Director of BECAT. Raj joined UConn as the UTC Professor of Computer Science & Engineering and Director of the GE E-Engineering Clinic in 2002. He earned his Ph.D. in computer science from Harvard University in 1988.

Before joining UConn, he was Chief Scientist with Arcot Systems, Santa Clara, CA while on temporary leave from his position as full, tenured professor in the Computer & Information Science Department at the University of Florida, Gainesville. He is an expert in the area of applied algorithms, particulary parallel, randomized algorithms and computatoinal geometry. He has co-authored two books and edited four, authored 17 book chapters, and published more than 125 peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles and conference proceedings.
