SGI Altix Supercomputer

The SGI Altix 3700 BX2 system contains 64 Intel Itanium 2 processors and 64 GB memory. The software packages include GNU compilers, Intel compilers, Scientific Computing Software Library (SCSL), SCILAB and many other scientific libraries and applications.

BECAT Grid Cluster

The BECAT Grid Cluster has been retired. A new cluster is under construction. It will be composed of one master node and five compute nodes. Each node has a P4 2.2Ghz CPU, 512MB RAM, 80GB HD and one Gigabit ethernet connection.

The BECAT Cluster uses Rocks 3.3.0 cluster distribution, an excellent open source high performance Linux cluster solution. The following software packages are currently available: GNU compilers and tools, Intel Compilers, MPICH, PVM, Grid middleware Globus, Sun Grid Engine Scheduler, and PBS/Maui Cluster Scheduler.
