Michael J. Hartnett

Bio: Dr. Hartnett is President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Roller Bearings Company of America and Holdings, an international company. Previously, he held several executive positions at The Torrington Company, including Vice President and General Manager of the Aerospace Business Unit and Vice President of the Research and Development Division. Dr. Hartnett owns six patents, has authored 25 publications, and is internationally recognized for his contributions in the field of tribology (the study of friction). In 1999, he was presented the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award. Dr. Hartnett has been a steadfast champion of technology education and a staunch supporter of research and development in emerging technologies throughout Connecticut.
