Library Services

The Homer Babbidge Library offers faculty members and students a range of data gathering services, including:

  • Library Instruction – general orientation, course-related instruction, and focused research training. Group and individual training sessions are available by appointment. For group sessions, please contact the liaison at least 2 weeks in advance.
  • Research Assistance – help in selecting appropriate resources, performing database searches, or locating relevant materials at other institutions.
  • Citation Assistance – help in verifying citations for publications, bibliographies, or Interlibrary Loan orders.
  • New Materials Requests – titles to be added to the Libraries’ collection.

Three Liaison Librarians are assigned to assist the engineering community:

Civil & Environmental — Jun Qian
Computer Science & Engineering — Alice Fairfield
Electrical & Computer Engineering — Jun Qian
Mechanical Engineering – Jun Qian

Questions and requests concerning interdisciplinary programs, such as Biomedical Engineering, non-department specific classes, such as ENGR1000, or projects for the School of Engineering as a whole can be addressed to any of the three engineering librarians.
