Biotechnology & Bioengineering Research
Associated Center
The Bioinformatics & Biocomputing Institute (BIBCI) at the University of Connecticut (i) supports and maintains a core computing facility dedicated to bioinformatics, (ii) facilitates optimal use of information technology in biological sciences, and (iii) promotes advanced, multi-disciplinary research involving both biological sciences and computational sciences. The Institute also promotes research collaboration between the main Storrs campus and the UConn Health Center. A principal goal of ABI centers on developing and maintaining computing facilities - including databases, computing and analysis software tools, communications and hardware - to support the ever-growing computational needs of the participating computational biological science groups. A strong core of engineering faculty members are allied with BIBCI.
