School to Laud Distinguished Engineers and Top Students

Outstanding alumni and student scholars will be honored during the School of Engineering's annual banquet and awards ceremony on the evening of Wednesday, April 9 in the Lewis B. Rome ballroom located in the South Campus complex.

banquet1 (104K)The evening brings together industrial sponsors and UConn School of Engineering alumni, friends, faculty and outstanding student scholars. A highlight of the evening is the induction of new members into the University's Academy of Distinguished Engineers. Academy members are exceptional alumni selected from a pool of outstanding nominees (view our Academy members here). Top students also will be lauded with merit scholarships. In 2007, the School of Engineering awarded more than $550,000 in academic merit scholarships to continuing students and offered another $800,000 to students admitted to the School for the fall term. The scholarships are made possible through the generosity of corporate friends and alumni. View the 2007 scholarship awards here.
