March 2000 George Kissel, ConnCHI’s founder and president, relocated to Raleigh, NC in
March 2000. With his departure there have been many changes to the Executive Council.

benefits of ACM charter being weighed against added workload for the few active ConnCHI volunteers. Likely, ConnCHI will remain an “unofficial” local CHI chapter unless volunteerism increases dramatically.
--------------------------------------------------------- The ConnCHI Executive Council has posted the ConnCHI bylaws to be used with the petition for an official Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) charter. The Charter will allow ConnCHI to take on non-profit status.
The charter creation process is underway! The petition is being developed and distributed for signatures from Executive Council and Committee members.
Once ConnCHI is officially chartered by the ACM, ConnCHI will begin to collect dues ($15/year) and expand its services. Meetings will continue to occur on
a bi-monthly basis starting in January of each year.
