Software Human Factors Specialists
IBM Global Services, Global Application Delivery has immediate openings for human factors specialists. Experienced and inexperienced candidates are
sought. Ideal experienced candidates will have successfully designed user interfaces following a User Centered Design process, including defining users, analyzing their tasks, prototyping and testing the UI, and
incorporating feedback into the design. Inexperience candidates will be familiar with a User Centered Design process, and have task analysis, prototyping, and testing experience. All candidates must have
excellent verbal and written communication skills,the ability to work independently as well as part of the team, and an advanced degree in psychology (human factors, cognitive,or experimental) or a field related to
human-computer interaction.
Additionally, they will have an interest and ability to design solutions in emerging software technologies. Successful candidates must be able to work quickly and
thoroughly, consistently producing high quality work products.
Our team works as consultants. For each engagement we assess the extent of human factors services necessary for a given assignment, present a
proposal of services to the customer, and then render the services according to the agreed upon schedule. Services include:
- User requirements gathering
- Task analysis
- User interface design and prototyping
- User interface evaluations such as testing, heuristic evaluations, and walkthroughs, and collection of user feedback once the application is
released
