(Summary of messages sent on 9/22/04 to class) CSE 275 Test 1, 9/30/04 rules & guidelines Material covered in the Angel text readings, Chapters 1 -4 and all the related algorithm examples (circle, line) discussed are fair game. The following sections for Angel are NOT included in the test: 1.2.3, 1.7.2, 2.1 - 2.3, 2.4.4, 2.7 - 2.9, 3.1 - 3.8, 3.10 4.11 Emphasize performance care needed for graphics and animation. Particular attention will be given to line and circle algorithms, the trade-offs between integer and floating point arithmetic and graphics transformations of translation, rotation, scale and shear (in their full generalizations) and the supporting role of matrix multiplication. Calculators are permitted. You are also allowed one sheet of notes, not to exceed 9 in x 12 in. You can cover it with whatever notes you wish and you will be able to bring this sheet to Test 2 and the Final Exam. No books, computers or internet connections are allowed. I will NOT be present for class on 9/28 or 9/30. On 9/28 Adam will present some material and can entertain questions about the test. On 9/30, Adam will administer the test. I will also entertain questions about the test during class on 9/23.
