The final project report for your team efforts is due Monday, December 2, 2002. Please make use of the Spring 1999/Fall 2000 projects as examples for your final project report and presentation. Various deliverables and their content are given below:
- Final Project Report: Due December 2, 2002
The document describing the final report must be formatted double spaced, 12 point pages, with 1 inch margins, single sided. In general, everyone's document has been well developed to date. You need to polish and expand for a final report that is in a format that can be utilized during the next offering of CSE333. The document must be written as a detailed technical report and contain the following:
- Utilize the typical technical paper format with sections (1. Introduction, 2. Motivation, 3. Etc…) and subsections, and numerical references. Basically, you must organize and present the material in a coherent fashion. As with the earlier reports, you should overview the goals and objectives of your topic in the Introduction. The last paragraph of the introduction must contain a rundown on the organization of the remainder of your report. As a guide, you are referred to the two reuse papers that are on the web page.
- Figures/Tables given in-line at a position that is close to their first text reference.
- The final section should be titled: "Conclusion and Future Work" and should have a very short (1 paragraph conclusion) followed by an enumerated list of future work topics (1-2 pages). Your discussion should focus on what is left to do - both on major work and minor changes. You should have anywhere from 3-6 future work topics, each with 4-5 sentences of explanation.
- Utilize numbered references that are alphabetically ordered. Provide a single, integrated reference list. All references should be cited in text body. Don't forget web references.
- Appendix: Every report should have an appendix to discuss the process. This was the material in the midterm report, namely, a component-wise breakdown of the topic, clearly identifying the various components of the project and indicating which each team member will be working on. You should also include any substantial changes in project direction and focus. Don't hesitate to use sections and subsections in your appendix.
- Format of Final Presentation:
Utilize the format that is present in the slides for the course this semester. I would recommend the utilization of the object-oriented reuse talk, since it contains many different types of slides. Final presentation format must be Microsoft PowerPoint 97.
- Final Report and Presentation: Due December 2, 3, and 5, 2002
The Final presentation replaces 1.5 to 2 weeks of classes during the semester with extra long classes to be held on December 3rd and 5th.. The final report must be written using Microsoft Word 97. Submit both electronic and hard copies of paper and final presentation. Don't forget to hand in your graded proposal and graded midterm report with your final submittal!
