Research Interests: Computational biology and bioinformatics in general, with an emphasis on computational molecular evolution. My research group develops new computational methods, efficient algorithms, and powerful software tools to help answer fundamental questions in biology. We are especially interested in problems related to understanding the evolution of genes, genomes, and species.

Research Group: Computational Biology Laboratory

Open Positions: Positions are available in my research group for bright and motivated PhD students. Please click here for further details.

Research opportunities for undergraduate students: Positions are available in my research group for motivated undergraduate students who wish to gain research experience by working on exciting research problems that are both computationally challenging and biologically important. Please click here for further details.

Computational Biology Conferences: In an effort to keep track of relevant conference deadlines, I also maintain a webpage with information on upcoming computational biology conferences.
